Posturology?
Posturology is nothing short of life changing. This technique dates back to the 19th century and changes the way your brain communicates with your muscles. For you, this means improved posture, increased strength, and lower pain.
Our current health system was built to treat symptoms, instead of addressing the true cause of the symptoms.
The basic premise of Posturology is that the body receives sensory information from the environment primarily via the foot, eye, bite and skin. If there is a defect in one or more of these systems, the body adapts to the faulty signals it’s receiving, and thereby becomes pathologically imbalanced.
The aim of Posturology is to correct errors at these receptor sites, returning the body to proper equilibrium.
Defining Posturology?
Posturology is an unconventional method of studying posture, an automatic and unconscious motor act that allows the client:
– To adopt an erect position.
– To stabilize this position in static or dynamic.
– To develop the spatial knowledge of the self in relation to its environment.
Posturology is concerned with the body’s strategy to fight against gravity. Posturology is a discipline that studies the position of a subject in space:
– Its balance.
– Its stature.
– Its stability.
It considers the ability to balance on one’s feet as well as the symmetry of the body or the visual perception of horizontality.
Principles of Posturology?
To stand upright, human beings struggle against gravity and seek balance.
He must constantly adapt his body to his environment according to the external signals received by his sensory sensors located in the eyes and feet.
These signals are transmitted to the brain which, in turn, sends messages to the muscles so that the body adapts.
The cause of a posture disorder is the information received from misadjusted sensors. The consequence can be:
- Balance disorders
- Muscle tension
- Chronic discomfort
The benefits of posturology:
Posturology does not aim to cure any ailment whatsoever. It therefore does not claim any therapeutic application as such.
It is an observation tool that can detect and improve postural asymmetries and functional balance disorders.
The benefits can be as follows:
- Elimination of physical pain
- Elimination of muscle tension
- Significant improvement in balance
