After having a fairly sedentary childhood with only occasional seasons of playing sports, I started lifting weights at the end of my senior year of high school. From that point on I felt drawn to lifting weights and eating more nutritiously, yet self-imposed limiting beliefs kept me from pursuing fitness as a career for several years.
Over the years I continued to explore different styles of training including bodybuilding, crossfit and powerlifting. It was only until I had persistently broken down the beliefs I had about myself and rejected my fear of how other people perceived me that I fully embraced the path of a fitness professional.
Through a handful of experiences of seeing disease and death second hand, I realized the value of preventative medicine, primarily the life altering effects of mindset development, spirituality, good nutrition, physical exercise and therapeutic movement.
In July 2018 I received my National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer certificate. Just shy of my Associate’s degree in Hospitality management, I switched my education path to a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences with a concentration of Healthy Lifestyles Coaching at Arizona State University. In my last semester of my degree, I dove into my career as a fulltime personal trainer at Body by Choice Training.
As I continue to seek and apply my education, my passion for living a healthy lifestyle only grows. I believe my purpose in life is to guide others to an improved quality of life, health and wellness.
